The rice was just something I threw together but I'm very happy with how it turned out. I started by frying some black mustard seeds and crushed coriander seeds in a little oil, then chucked in chopped garlic and ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, garam masala and cumin. In went the rice with some frozen peas, fresh shredded snow peas and sprouted chickpeas. I sprouted the peas myself, something I've never done before. It was so easy and delightful to watch them grow, I'll be doing it a lot I bet. Enjoy what's left of your Sunday.

Busy, too busy!
I've got a lot of catching up to do. This weekend has at the same time flown by and gone on forever. Some parts were a little too eventful (Michael, I hope you're OK with two fractured elbows!) while others felt just right (Lisa, your birthday drinks were a hoot, and thank you for introducing me to a wonderful new bar in my area). I'm having an early night tonight so I'll keep this brief, but a quick picture of my lunch the other day - leftovers from dinner the night before. Beetroot leaf saag (made here), with a tiny bit of red lentil dahl, served over Indian spiced fried rice.

Birthday drinks were fun indeed... I do love Bar Etiquette, especially their qwalitee cocktails.
